The Saltire Prize is pushing forward innovation in clean, green marine renewables, placing Scotland at the forefront of a global new energy endeavour and international efforts to tackle climate change. 
The £10 million Saltire Prize Challenge is Scotland’s clean energy challenge to the world.
It was created to accelerate the commercial development of wave and tidal energy technology.
The Saltire Prize is overseen by the Challenge Committee and is open to any individual, team or organisation from across the world who believes they have wave or tidal energy technology capable of fulfilling the challenge. Already there are five Saltire Prize Competitors undertaking this ambitious challenge.
The Junior Saltire Prize was launched in 2011 and is designed to inspire the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs in Scotland’s schools.
